About Us

Marion Therese Lee, CFRE

Twenty-one years ago, we coined the phrase, “Your mission matters most.”  It is as true today as it was in 2000.

For 32 years, Marion Lee, President and CEO of Lee+ Associates, has worked to help nonprofit organizations achieve their charitable goals. Marion’s goal is to keep our consulting services relevant to contemporary nonprofit needs and to always be flexible and open to the changing landscape. Nonprofit management, development assessments, board and staff education, feasibility studies, capital campaigns and philanthropic fund management are the core services of our company.

Prior to founding Lee+ Associates, Marion served as an adventure travel leader for the Witte Museum’s Texas Camel Corps, a Development Associate at the University of Texas Institute of Texan Cultures, Capital Campaign Director and Assistant Executive Director for the San Antonio Public Library Foundation, and the CEO of the San Antonio Area Foundation.

From a public/private partnership with the City of San Antonio to build a new Central Library ($175 million) to leading the San Antonio Area Foundation through its first strategic plan, Marion has applied innovative attention to the challenges and goals of the organizations that serve San Antonio and Texas.

In the mid-90s, Marion was the youngest woman in the country chosen to lead a $32 million community foundation that grew to  more than $102 million during her tenure.  Listening, learning and compassionate respect for organizational culture are the core values of Lee+ Associates.  Marion received  AFP San Antonio’s Fundraising Professional of the Year award in 2004 and is a member of the Leadership Texas class of 2007.

Today, with one of the most experienced and respected teams in Texas, she looks forward to continuing to serve and support the sustainability of nonprofits.
